This 40-hour course includes approximately 50% practical field exercises and scenario-based training. The focus of the scenario training is practicing the function and role of the TL in planning, decision making, team management, and contingency planning and execution, along with other critical aspects.
This is an intensive critical thinking and practical application class, with real time decision-making. You won’t be sitting around wondering when they will refill the coffee, or how you will stay awake around 3-4pm. In this course you will have the chance to test run the information you learn during the lectures. There will also be mini projects and class presentations, with several projects performed as field training exercises.
The foundation of these courses, as with all Onyx Training courses, is a human-centered, principle based approach to decision making and problem solving. We believe police officers must be competent in their critical thinking and problem solving skills, or they can never be the best version of a guardian they can be for the community they serve.
